2019 ended with a rise in four major categories:

Robberies went up by 3.1 % (probably stemming from cellphone theft from peoples dependence on them for purchases and also addiction to texting and binge watching)

Assaults are up 1.4% (due to sudden rise of attacks based on anti-Semitism)

There were 766 total shootings a rise of 2.9% from 2019 and murders cracked the 300 mark in three years with a total 318 in the safest big city in the world

One evening in December, one murder would wind up getting international attention.

Manhattan

In Morningside Park, an 18-year-old woman, Barnard college student and bass player went for a walk in the park nearby her school and then was attacked and brutally beaten on the base of the stairs in a robbery attempt and was stabbed multiple times all over her body. The woman crawled up the stairs while bleeding profusely that got the attention of a patrol guard by Columbia University who just came back from doing his rounds. A butterfly knife and a phone belonging to her were found next to her body. The woman bled to death hours later.

What was initially described in the NY Daily News and NY Post as an attack by a group of men was debunked when the NYPD arrested a 13-year-old boy suspect that reportedly confessed to being an accomplice to the murder. The boy told investigators that he was with his two friends, both 14, and was just looking to rob people. He said they came upon the woman after his friends saw a man and didn’t bother with him and went after her. The boy then recounted his friend putting her in a headlock and going through her pockets then stabbed her when she fought back and bit his other accomplice on the finger.

One of the boys was also arrested but was released for lack of evidence, and the boy suspected of committing the murder reportedly showed up to the precinct for an interview but ran away and was out of state for weeks. The NYPD then put up his picture for publishing in the local papers and websites. He finally returned to Harlem with his relatives and met with the defense attorney and was subsequently not charged and released, as the boy in custody remains the only one charged with the killing even though he claimed he never stabbed her. Although he alleged in his account of the homicide that he did pick up the knife and handed it to the alleged killer before they both ran from the park. Then there is part where the victim bit the boys finger that led to the stabbing, so far no DNA report has surfaced of the suspect who just resurfaced. The lone suspect is still imprisoned in a juvenile facility as he awaits trial in family court in March, as the killer is still roaming on the streets.

As the search for the murder weapon on the parks grounds and ponds were fruitless, the NYPD has been extremely cautious in handling this. The chief of detectives, on his first week on the job, refused to respond on the progress of the homicide case (although he did reveal that the third suspect never did run away when he was brought to the precinct). In a combination of trepidation and stonewalling, it’s clear that the NYPD and prosecutors don’t want this to turn into a Central Park five case from exactly 30 year ago that will cost the city another 50 million dollars.

Mayor de Blasio’s response to the murder from his crooked mouth was moronic and tone-deaf as expected, as he remarked how unbelievable that a killing like that could have happened in this city and under his watch at that place (his actual sentence structure). But as usual with the pathological, habitual lying mayor; the facts on the ground belie those parsing words. Because Morningside Park is still treacherous to walk around there at night (and day) despite all the constant reports and press release boasts of lowering crime in the last two decades as robberies have rose 82% in the park in the last year.

In fact, just a few weeks before Tessa Majors murder in Morningside Park, a man was attacked inside a dog park by a man who attempted to hold him up at knifepoint, but the man clocked him in the face and the suspect ran away as the man fell down a flight of stairs after the tussle. Outside of the park a food delivery man was held by two men brandishing a knife and a gun and robbed his scooter, $60 and his cellphone. During the search of the park a few days after the murder, cops nabbed a man for holding up an app-food delivery guy and stealing his bike.

But it’s not just the usually clueless mayor to cite to blame, for Columbia and Barnard were not diligent enough to warn students about the rise in crime in Morningside Park, as students either had to hear from more streetwise students or presume it was safe probably because of the safest big city narrative being constantly bandied about by elected officials and NYPD monthly pressers and parroted by corporate local news media.

Speaking of the NYPD, the NY Post did a followup story on rising crime at Morningside Park with a student from Columbia who was attacked on those very same steps where Ms. Majors was slayed, when three boys surrounded him and robbed $120 off him when one of them flashed a box cutter at him. This was his recollection:

“They asked me where I was from and if I had any money. At first, I didn’t think they were threatening me, so I told them I didn’t have any money. Then, they showed me an open knife, so I gave them my wallet and they took my money,” Yu told The Post Friday from his Harlem apartment.

“I was surprised this happened to me. Before I came, I heard that New York is pretty safe, but I encountered these things and it’s really unfortunate.”

When Yu went to the NYPD to report the incident, he was told “several people” had been robbed at the same place “by the same teenagers” but cops couldn’t do much about it because “they aren’t adults.”

“When I heard about the girl who was killed, I thought it was the same group of teenagers, and I was scared,” the student went on, adding he plans to take the campus shuttle from now on.

Do you know what this really means? That if Tessa Majors survived the mugging instead of bleeding to death on the stairs and being that the accused are all minors, the NYPD would have done nothing to help her.

It means that the NYPD is culpable for the death of Tessa Majors.

As well as New York City and State for these misinformed and poorly written bail reform laws and quite possibly the unethical machinations that led to ratifying the eventual closing of Rikers Island. But mostly the culpability of Majors death and any recent past and current victim of violent crime is on de Blasio and the departed commissioners William Bratton and James O’Neill for continuing the blue wall of insouciance.

It kind of makes you wonder if these low rung criminals are able to stash this stuff in cubby hole spots in the Tombs, imagine what some rogue federal official would be able to leave behind for a mercenary killer to pick up and use on an international person of interest in a understaffed prison with exhausted and jaded C.O.’s like the Manhattan Correctional Complex a block away on Centre St.

This chain of violence uncannily resembles what led to the Crown Heights riots between the Black and Hasidic communities 30 years ago. From the boy victim that originated it to the innocent victim that got caught in the middle. The difference is that nobody died and the groups involved are religious extremists and gangbangers. And this story got ignored because it was covered by a Christian news website and an right-wing blogger.

The vagrant then sucker punched the cop and wrestled him to the ground and would not release him, as his partner tried to remove him by pleading with him as she hit him with her baton that had no effect on him.

The vagrant was eventually arrested and brought to court then immediately released without bail. So he predictably went back to the location where the incident took place. He was so enamored with his good fortune, he gave a big cuddly smile sporting a little bottle of vodka too . Same as it ever was. Same as it ever was.

Then another man picked up a city garbage can and threw it on the victim. The lynching went on for 15 minutes. They then robbed the beaten man of a buck and left him lying unconscious. The man died from his numerous injuries four days later.

Only one person has been arrested from this lynching and it’s a teenage male who said he never touched the victim as the other thugs are still on the loose. Sounds like what’s going on with the Tessa Majors case.

In Grand Concourse at the 149th St. Station, a gang of six men repeatedly beat up, slashed and stabbed a 15-year-old boy while he was in the turnstiles. Final note on the sputtering homicide case of Tessa Majors:

A grown ass man did it.

New Bad Days 61: Murders And Gang Activity On The Rise As MS-13 Member Shoots Down Rival Gangbanger By The 7 Train And A Teenage Gang Member Shoots At Rival Gang As A Little Girl Dodges Bullets Both At Broad Daylight; Bike Riders Get Killed By Reckless Truck Drivers Yet Leads To No Arrests; A Gas Spill Causes Sickness To Commuters And Workers, An Actual Stake Falls From The Elevated Train Tracks Onto A Car And Other Debris Are Falling From MTA Work Areas; Widespread Holdups, Muggings, Home Invasions, Bigoted Vandalism, Sexual Assaults, Burglaries, Random And Intentional Assaults, Slashings And Stabbings, Shootings, Public Drunkeness And Rapes Also Rise In The “Safest Big City In America”

                          The Omen, Queens edition.

In the five boroughs in this short year, murders up a staggering 55% so far compared to last year, as total shootings went up by 69%. Rapes are also up another 21% and misdemeanor sex crimes (like groping) are up 26%, which the NYPD is still fallaciously tying to the heightened awareness of sexual harassment inspired by the #MeToo movement and not the fact that there are a lot of oversexed deviants running around on the streets and enforcement seems to be lacking.

But the spin from Commissioner O’Neill is that the city is still the safest it’s ever been. And Mayor de Blasio social media agitprop team is spreading is bullshit “Safest Big City” hashtag narrative on the Twitter. Even though stats for other crimes have remained stagnant and shown barely precipitous drops.

What’s stats aren’t being counted are the crimes that don’t get reported or filed.

Here we go, yo:

Queens

In Jackson Heights at the 90 St. Station, four men jumped and beat down a man on the platform in front of the stalled 7 train. One of the men then took a gun from the man on the ground and shot him point blank in the head and killed him and shot him another five times then ran off.

The killer is an illegal immigrant and member of the MS-13 gang and the victim was a member of the 18 Street gang. Reports suggest that this could have been stemmed from a dispute over territory as MS-13 is branching out into Queens. Graffiti toting MS-13’s presence was found on the walls of Councilman Francisco Moya’s office days after the brazen afternoon murder.

The killer had nine prior arrests and was most recently charged with burglary when he broke into a house in Richmond Hill back in December. The judge hearing his case set the bail at $2,500 despite the prosecutors demand for $100,000, which the defendant easily paid for.

But don’t worry, because our subways are the safest in the world and this brazen daylight murder is only an aberration according to NYPD Transit Chief Edward Dellatore as the first reports came in and the video went super viral. To quote:

“It appears to be just a dispute of an altercation. We don’t know why it took place”

“The New York City subway system remains incredibly safe for them millions of riders who use it every day, with an average of approximately one crime for every millions of riders per day”

Why the necessity to bring up that statistic? This guy emptied his clip and blew his head off on the busiest transit line in Queens in front of witnesses and a stupid guy filming it on his phone.

This gangbanger was roaming around Jackson Heights with 12 other Ms-13 members. It’s obvious this guy was no stranger in town, he was established and probably notoriously feared by the citizenry. And could put fears into the frivolous spending gentrys looking to move to the area.

And to compound this grotesque oversight, the NYPD shielded the killer’s gang affiliation and his illegal immigration status from the press and the public while they had him in custody. They even tried to keep him from view during his transfer by exiting through the back door of the precinct station.

Looks like another brick in the blue wall of insouciance.

Which from a pedestrian’s vantage point and from the stunned reaction of witnesses reported there, the only malfunction would be that the driver was able to get a license.

If the perpetrator had a fake gun, how did the detective get shot in the chest?

In a sting to prevent another tragedy like this, the NYPD deployed cops to ticket bicyclists leading to a police captain pushing a guy off his bike to stop him. The stupid mayor who yearns to be president thinks this arbitrary police policy is just fine. After he took this asshole position with cyclists, as he was cruising with his police motorcade on the FDR Drive, de Faustio ordered them to pull over a vehicle because the driver was talking on her cellphone. This from a guy who does similar multitasking while doing yoga at the Park Slope Y.

This fucking sticker:

Aloha. From the safest big city in America, as proclaimed on this robust bold face lettered sign on a dais table in a room at 1 Police Plaza, four major crimes have gone up in the borough of Queens last year. Rapes went up by 40% with 389 from 302, felony assaults went up by 1.2% with 3,848 from 3,820, grand larceny went up by 4% with 8,070 from 7,842, and murders are up by 20% with 62 from 50 from last year. Buglaries and robberies went down in some significant margins in the hundreds yet stagnant enough to remain in the 2,500 totals, and grand theft auto incidents remained the same at around 1,550.

So let’s begin this first reality check with the borough of the world.

Queens

In Jackson Heights, a 82-year-old woman got killed while walking in the crosswalk by an unlicensed driver who hit her with her car and then backed up over her body trying to get away. The NYPD charged the driver with driving without a license, failure to yield and to “use due care”. The latter meaning, not killing anyone while driving a 2000 pound vehicle. This really looks like voluntary manslaughter being that the driver showed intent to flee the scene.

The MTA decided to install key ignitions in their fleet of 5,700 buses in the next few months, although storage is still an issue because they still have to leave them out in the open on the street for a lack of lots to park them.  Better hope some domestic terrorist or random mental person doesn’t take one for a joyride too and plow a crowded sidewalk full of pedestrians during the upgrades.

Manhattan

In Washington Heights, two men loitering on the staircase of the 169th Street Station entrance who were annoying and harassing commuters were approached by two cops who were called to tell them to stop obstructing and move along. After cursing out the officers, the men suddenly put up their dukes and were provoking them to fight. The cops then pulled out their batons to defend themselves from the derelicts.

Despite getting hit with the stick, the man continued to swing at the cop, leading to a chase and the cop succeeding in getting him down to asphalt. As the copand a couple detectives held him. the cop, showing poor judgement and lack of restraint despite being vexed by the thugs, repeatedly wailed on him with the baton.

The social media video (which had outstanding play by play a woman who witnessed the entire altercation) and another video posted before the street hassle erupted shows the thugs were the agitators. Apparently, the skell who got the worst of the beatdown was involved in other prior violent altercations with the NYPD, and boasted how he had three lawsuits against the city and was awarded settlements and talking shit about how the cops can’t touch him.

The dynamic douches are known to citizens in the area for selling K-2 and were also recently involved in a scrum with cops by attacking them with bats just last month.

The dick who bragged that this will be his fourth lawsuit against the city, hopefully the D.A. prosecuting this arrest should probably bring these taunts and salient facts to the judge who will hear this case. Unfortunately and nauseatingly, the braggart was released and not charged for his role in the street fight with the cops he started. This is why the cops have to tamp down on the use of excessive force, because these opportunist bastards are taking advantage of social justice policies and citizens demands to hold cops accountable for such actions.

Also in Washington Heights, a man stabbed his wife to death in their apartment, then committed suicide by stabbing himself and jumping off a balcony stemming from a marriage separation.

Again in Washington Heights at the 181 St. Station, a homeless man who failed to catch a bag of food that his friend threw at him which fell onto the tracks, decided to go onto to trackbed and retrieve it, but slipped and fell when he tried to go back on the platform. Then the 1 train arrived and the man miraculously survived getting splattered by crawling in the trough.

subway-fall

At this same train station at Washington Heights, it has become a brazen den of iniquity for junkies blatantly shooting smack in front of commuters as discarded syringes are spread out all over the platform and trackbed. This will probably add up since Governor Andrew Amazon has allocated $598,000 to the state health department to provide more syringes for the smack shooters which are dispensed from a mobile unit truck that happens to be parked across the street from this station (!!!) , kind of like Mr. Softee (anyone wanna do a photo shop of the iconic vanilla swirl head mascot as a junk peddler). Maybe Transit President Byford can ask for some of those needle disposal boxes that are barely being used in Cortona Park in the Bronx.

And again in Washington Heights, a woman killed herself and injured her passenger when she drove her car in the wrong direction on a road by Riverside Blvd, then crashed into another car then careening through a wall and landing on a cemetery grounds.

https://thenypost.files.wordpress.com/2019/01/190101-biting-handcuff-suspension-index-feature.jpg?quality=90&strip=all&w=915

Also in Kips Bay, a drunk man got hit by a car crossing the street by a hit-and-run driver.

In Midtown, a gang of teenage boys robbed seven newsstands by stealing candy then robbing the cash when the proprietor runs after them or they just punch them in the face and grab the loot from behind the counter. Truly Dickensian times your city is in,  Fagin would be proud of these scamps.

Also in Midtown, a man punched a random man in the face at a hospital. The perp once got off on a double murder charge 10 years ago for stabbing and killing two people on the 2 train and has been a naughty recidivist since.

Again in Midtown, two men pulled off a burglary spree of restaurants starting at Wolfgang’s by busting down the glass door and robbing cash and booze, then went west and bashed a glass facade of another restaurant but was chased out by an employee, then they went up 20 blocks and broke into a Ray’s Pizza and stole two cash registers.

And again in Midtown, a retired NYPD officer left her semi-automatic gun inside a comfort food restaurant bathroom and found it missing when she went back to get it. The rationale behind her possessing the weapon is from a perk awarded to retiring cops validating concealed-carry permits.

And again in Midtown at the 42nd St/Bryant Park Station, an imbecile decided to take a stroll on the train tracks, causing delays on six transit lines.

And again in Midtown at the 7th Avenue Station, a 21-year-old died after she fell down the stairs while carrying her one-year-old daughter and a stroller filled with groceries as both escalators at the station were only going up.

The NYPD and a city medical examiner concluded that the woman died from a “pre-existing medical condition”  after first determining that she died from the fall but did not divulge what that what condition it was. Although the woman’s relatives said she had a thyroid issue and was suffering from migraines the day before her death.

First off it’s amazing the expediency was to investigate this so fast to get a result for how this preventable tragedy occurred, preventable meaning that this station should have fucking elevators. Second is how the examiner utilized an Obamacare stipulation to determine how the woman died, which just stinks of undermining the severity of the woman’s fall. Could her pre-existing condition been aggravated by the fall from hauling the cumbersome load of the stroller with the groceries while precariously holding her baby while walking down the steep staircase?

In the Upper East Side and Murray Hill, four teenage boys robbed four produce cart vendors of a total of $1,500 in a crime spree a week before the newsstand robberies above.

Also in the Upper East Side, a woman committed suicide by jumping from her apartment window.

Again in the Upper East Side, a slab of concrete fell off a luxury high rise building development still under construction and landed on the roof of an apartment building it shadows over next door and crashed through the ceiling of a man’s apartment.

naked truck man.jpg

Also in Harlem, a fireman crashed a firetruck with two of his children riding along with him into a dumpster and a parked car and drove it away during a holiday event arranged by the FDNY Engine 69. No report was ever filed of the accident and all of his fellow smokeeaters colluded to cover up the hit-and-run.

Again in Harlem, a pregnant EMT worker was assaulted by a drunk man she was treating as he punched her in the stomach when she recommended he go to a hospital for his injuries.

And again in Harlem, a man with a gun got tazed by a cop when he approached them with a gun inside a hallway.

Also in Chelsea, a water main broke on 7th Ave and 15th Street, causing the road to collapse and release tons of water onto the L train tunnel leading to suspending service on the line. This should put a literal damper on the governor’s new fix it plan.

In Soho, a man broke into a store selling popular tech products by smashing the window at 1 a.m., and robbed over 50 items worth $75,000.

Also in Soho, a woman and man plundered an painting from an art gallery and ran away. The curator gave up chase and claimed that the piece wouldn’t get resold. That is very strange reaction, especially considering the vanishing of a DaVinci painting worth 450 million dollars and the lack of effort or investigation to find it.

In the East Village, a woman was awaken from her sleep by a man who was standing above her in her bedroom. After he raped her, he demanded $1,000 from her. When she told the predator that she didn’t have it, he bounded her with duct tape and stole her bank card, phone and laptop.

In Central Park, a man robbed a police scooter from the Central Park Pct. and drove it all the way to New Jersey. Cops didn’t realize it was gone for about three hours before they activated the GPS on it. The vehicle can only be operated with a universal key, which means some dummy must have left the engine running.

In the Upper West Side, a 17-year-old boy was stabbed in the chest in front of pizzeria and died hours later after refusing to provide the cops with his killer’s identity or description.

Also in the Upper West Side by Central Park, an argument between two men escalated when one of them pulled his gun out and shot at the other man who fled and jumped over a wall in the park.

Again in the Upper West Side, an SRO apartment building fire killed one and injured two people.

And again in the Upper West Side, a man loitering inside an apartment building jumped a woman and her mother in the lobby and held them up at knifepoint and forced them into their apartment where he tied them up with electrical tape. When the woman’s father showed up and knocked on the door, the man held a knife to his daughter’s neck and ordered her to let him in and then tied him up to a chair with a belt then robbed them of their credit cards and split. The daughter broke free and called the cops leading to the perpetrators arrest after resisting the cops by fighting with and spitting on them. It turned out that the man was currently homeless and on parole.

And again on the Upper West Side, a big fucking couch is perched on a tree’s branches. The city has been giving concerned citizens the runaround deferring responsibility to other departments to remove it.

https://www.westsiderag.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/couch-in-tree.jpg

In the Lower East Side, a man slashed another man in the face following an argument inside a diner.

In the West Village, a woman committed suicide by hanging herself in her apartment.

And grand larceny has gone up on the subways in 2018 attributed to an international team of pickpocket thieves. Kind of makes this city feel like it’s slowly reverting back to the days of the Artful Dodger or just an imitation of Tijuana, Mexico.

Brooklyn

In Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, a fugitive wanted for his role in a murder of a man in Ozone Park in 2017 was shot at by FBI agents trying to enter an apartment he was hiding in, blowing out the windows and scaring the shit out of other tenants. Well, you got to take the badge and the power and responsibility that goes with it seriously, it isn’t like you can give out gun permits to famous people like the President and his sons, his former fixer Michael Cohen or to some of de Blasio’s special donors under the diligent watch of the legendary Commissioner William Bratton.

And again in Bushwick, a 19-year-old man was shot to death on the street from a shotgun blast to the chest.

A few minutes later a man saw it as the cops were walking away, picked it up and fled. The NYPD allegedly disciplined the cops, who remain unidentified because of the 50A ruling that’s supposed to protect police from criminals from finding out where they reside but is more often used as a shield to cover up malfeasance, incompetence, use of excessive force, and in this case, insouciance.

Just like what they did to Det. Adrian Schoolcraft when he tried to report NYPD corruption.

Also in the South Bronx, a woman walking across the street was killed when she was hit by a sanitation sand-spreading plow affixed truck as the driver kept going. The cops flagged him down and was not charged.

Again in the South Bronx, four teenage males attacked a woman in a train station, all taking turns punching her then robbed her headphones and a $600 belt.

And again in the South Bronx, two teenage prisoners sexually harassed a corrections officer at the Horizon Juvenile Center. The city waited an entire month to release the report.

In Eastchester, a man held up a worker at Dunkin Donuts at gunpoint and ordered her to empty the register then bolted out the door with $700.

In Belmont, a shootout on the street between two men alerted a drug task force consisting of DEA agents, NYPD and State Troopers to react, leading the suspects to flee the area only to get arrested later.

Also in Belmont, a man and a woman got drunk then got into an argument in their cluster apartment. The woman then stabbed him twice with a kitchen knife, causing him to die from his injuries.

Again in Belmont, a man grabbed a woman walking on the sidewalk and dragged her about a block then ran away when a man witnessing the abduction yelled at him.

In Westchester, an off-duty fireman killed a pedestrian with his car in a hit-and-run.

In Melrose, a 13-year-old girl stabbed a 14-year-old boy in the shoulder in the school lunchroom stemming from a insult he made about her on social media.

In Norwood, a decomposed body of a homeless man who was reported missing was found inside a park.

Also in Norwood, a man flashed his junk in front of an 11-year-old boy in an apartment building. The deviant was on parole after serving time for sexually molesting an 11-year-old boy.

In Mount Eden, a woman was jumped by a 17-year-old boy and forced into a building at knifepoint and raped her in a stairwell and stole $18 from her. The idiot rapist ran away and went into a deli, where the victim and her husband showed up and detained him until the police arrived.

In Pelham Bay, a man picked up a runaway 12-year-old girl in Soundview while impersonating a police officer promising her a place to sleep, then drove her to a motel and raped her there. The suspect was beaten up in Rikers Island.

In Kingsbridge, a man got stabbed to death inside an apartment building.

In Eastchester, an off-duty NYPD cop who got off from a prior DUI charge where he smashed into a NY State police car, crashed into a parked car while driving drunk.

In Co-Op City, a fire broke out in an apartment building injuring four children.

In Woodstock, a raccoon was found wandering on the tracks of the 6 train line.

Staten Island

In Clifton, a 55-year-old woman who was walking to a late evening prayer meeting around midnight got jumped from behind by a man who placed her in a chokehold, then savagely beat her up, dragged her on the ground and threw her against an iron gate and cracked her head open. While she was bleeding, the man tried to silence her as the woman defended herself, causing him to run away.

While at the hospital, cops showed up to question the victim but she couldn’t recall if they actually asked anything to her and she found out the case wound up being closed a week after her attack.

The cops eventually arrested the suspect on Jan. 28, over 3 weeks after the attack. Because two days after this arrest and during that long time span while he was on the loose, a 69-year-old was murdered in Stapleton and found dead inside a house and this guy is suspected in this case because of a video capture of the suspect holding her arm and bringing her inside there. The deceased was also brutally beaten, and there is footage of the man leaving the premises by himself.

Now it turns out the initial earlier brutal assault case was marked closed because of a clerical error made by an city worker filing it at the 120 Pct. and the police sergeant working the desk allowed it to pass even though the detectives assigned to the case never interviewed the assault victim. Asked about how this incompetence that might have cost a woman her life, Chief Terrance Monihan gave thoroughly tone-deaf excuses of “administrative errors” and it “happens everywhere in life.” And also “(It) probably should’ve been caught then but it wasn’t. Now we’ve got to look what could have been done to shorten that time span, were there any systematic errors, any personnel errors.”

“They see, wow, this case shouldn’t be closed, it should be open,” he said. “They reopen the case and send it up to the detectives for investigation.”

NYPD Commissioner O’Neil “This is a terrible tragedy, so we’ll be taking a look — a total look –at it.”

Yeah, keep looking chief and commissioner. Wow, hopefully no one else will perish or crippled the next time you all suddenly realized you fucked up.

In Westerleigh, a 91-year-old man got killed when he got hit by an approaching car as he was crossing the street with the light still red.

In Donghan Hills, a woman snatched a dog off the stoop that was waiting to go back into his house.

In Port Richmond, a man driving drunk crashed into a house and ran away, leaving his drunk passenger to get arrested after he tried to get away but crashed it into a grassy knoll.

In West Brighton, a man was murdered in his apartment by as friend of his after meeting up with him at barber shop and had an argument when the victim asked his friend for money. The murder victim reportedly texted his mother on his phone as he was about to get killed.

The suspected killer and his girlfriend were caught on surveillance video dumping a bag and blood stained clothes in a dumpster by an apartment complex in New Jersey. The woman turned in her boyfriend to the cops after reporting a false emergency even though he physically attacked her in a domestic dispute. The suspect was brought to the stationhouse where he is claiming innocence and that he was being coerced to admit the killing by police interrogating him.

Further police investigations in search of the victim’s body also searched a construction company lot with a history of building violations in Port Richmond owned by a man who let the suspect live in an apartment building he ran and is now also suspected for aiding and abetting the ditching of the body, and ended in a landfill in Pennsylvania.

And this post ends with the bizarre, peculiar and improbable death of the Saudi Arabian sisters, who were being demanded by their nation to return home and who were found dead duct taped to each other by their wrists and ankles by the Hudson River in Riverside Park in December was ultimately ruled a suicide by this city’s medical examiner. So that’s the end of that. Well, the Sauds do invest in a lot of tech companies operating in your city and we certainly can’t disrupt that or upset them with murder conspiracy theories.

And it also should be noted that the killer of Brandy Odom, who butchered her and left her severed remains in plain sight on the paths in Canarsie Park 10 months ago is still lurking around.

The Blue Wall Of Insouciance: Police Captain Exposes NYPD Crime Reclassification Malfeasance

NY Daily News: NYPD captain claims some cops are fudging crime stats to advance their careers, igniting police investigation

Police brass are investigating claims by a veteran captain who alleges that some NYPD commanders are misclassifying felonies to hold down crime statistics in a bid to further their careers.

Capt. Marash Vucinaj has gathered 156 cases over the past two years from multiple commands that he contends show a pattern of downgrading some felony-level crimes to misdemeanors. The crimes include thefts and attempted thefts, assaults and assaults on cops. He does not claim the manipulation extends to murders and rapes.

The purpose, he said, is to shift crimes out of the all-important index crime category — made up of murder, rape, robbery, assault, burglary, grand larceny and auto theft.

Among the methods he claims he has seen:

  • Classifying incidents where cops are injured by suspects as resisting arrest, rather than assault.
  • Classifying grand larcenies as lost property and ignoring details that suggest a crime took place.
  • Classifying incidents where someone purposefully shot at someone but missed as “investigate shots fired,” reckless endangerment or criminal mischief.
  • Classifying incidents where a would-be thief slipped his hand into someone’s pocket or bag as misdemeanor “jostling” rather than attempted grand larceny.
  • Compressing several crimes with separate victims into one complaint report.
  • Failing to record crimes in the city handled by other law enforcement agencies.

High-ranking police officials sharply disputed Vucinaj’s claims of any widespread downgrading of crime. “I take serious offense at these allegations that crime reports aren’t taken right because cops shed their blood for these crime reports,” said Dermot Shea, the chief of crime control strategies.

“It goes against everything we’re trying to do to deploy our resources. We need those crime reports to deploy appropriately.”

A few days after touting and actually celebrating the record low murder rate (just 290 dead, a murder every 36 hours, hooray!), our NYPD of this/your city is under new scrutiny for downgrading the severity of crime statistics.

The creativity behind this according to Captain Vucinaj is disturbingly and conspiratorially widespread, showing an insidious sophistication that resembles the craft and skill sets of the biggest public relations firms. For example, Mayor de Faustio’s buddies in Berlin/Rosen.

Captain Vucinaj’s study revealed drawn down and peculiar reclassifying. Like shootings, targeted and crossfire, being filed as criminal mischief, basically associating sporadic gunfire with throwing eggs or toilet paper on Halloween. Shootings also qualified under the redundantly described reckless endangerment. The severity of such lethal activity got conveniently and literally lessened as long as the shots don’t hit or kill anybody.

Like how four people were held up at knife point and robbed and how three women had their wallets lifted and both were filed as one robbery because it was committed by one suspect.

Speaking of lifting wallets and also cellphones, the latter seeing a great increase because of it’s ubiquity and exposure, crime reports fell under the term “jostling” if the victims happened to robbed while asleep, bumped into and even with the perp just putting his hand in a purse or pocket, or classified as lost property instead of the standard, serious and accurate charge of grand larceny. Because your cherish personal belongings aren’t that essential you materialists, especially those fancy phones containing all your vital personal data and information.

The standout and most egregious of criminal activity is the diminishing of resisting arrest. What was previously classified as felony assault resulting from injuries caused during struggles was marked down to misdemeanor assault according to Capt. Vucinaj’s probe while working in the Transit Division. A remarkable amount of over 2,200 incidents out of over 3.500 involved a cop getting injured during an arrest with a rambunctious suspect in the span of 6 months.

Why that outstanding statistic is not revealed is not disturbing enough. But it makes a shitload of sense of why perpetrators are emboldened to go down with a fight before getting cuffed.

Similar altercations have happened in the last few months when a chump knocked over a cop after he was stopped jumping the turnstile when his train arrived, and a mentally ill man engaged in a struggle with two cops on a platform, causing one of the cops to fall down the stairs trying to apprehend him as he fled.

What’s perplexing is that these machinations are being ordered by the top brass of the precincts.More perplexing is that cops react with fervor and fury when a colleague gets shot or injured and this is going to encourage, as it has already, more skells to battle with cops and resist arrest. And it puts the cops on the street in more precarious and dangerous positions and situations, it may lead to more excessive use of force or another senseless, preventable and ultimately galvanizing fatality. The chiefs overseeing these crime spins are putting the lives of citizens and cops at more risk.

As with the standard procedure for investigating crime patterns, these markdowns gain more validation and credulity considering Deputy Inspector Peter Rose, recently promoted from captain from his precinct in Greenpoint. The same Inspector Rose who marginalized/reclassified the meaning of rape by stating that being raped by someone you know or dated is not as serious as being raped by a stranger (you can always depend on the kindness and aggressive sexual advances of those familiar with you, to misquote Tennessee Williams). Nearby in Bushwick, a woman had tremendous difficulty shaking off a stalker because the precinct she reported to kept giving her conflicting advice to avoid writing up her experience and told her flat out that she was wasting her time. An almost exact treatment by two precincts was given to a woman who was assaulted on the train because of the fact that the attack occurred when the train was moving as officers gave her conflicting excuses of where to file a complaint.

As with all great stories of the process of law enforcement and justice, there has to be a motive behind this. Maybe an ulterior motive. And it could only be, albeit cynically, is to make the neighborhoods virtually safe for habitation for market rate renting and home and condo ownership. As recent reports show a herculean percentage of whites moving into neighborhoods were crime was rampant in the bad old decades of the 70’s and 80’s like in Bed-Stuy, Crown Heights and Bushwick. And with the recent hyper-development in the South Bronx, Jamaica, Queens and the MIH zoning development being pushed by the city in East New York and East Harlem it is sure to get virtually safer there soon too.

It sure looks like the overlords of real estate are defining the charges, because all those nasty murders and muggings will make moneyed individuals think twice about living in these new posh burghs.

And these methods and stats seem to be in sync with sociopolitical and city planning interest from elected officials and those gadabouts in development and real estate for the  (quasi-)imminent closing of Rikers Island.

Captain Vucinaj should be highly commended for his due diligence for this irresponsible white washing and fudging of the stats, and the distressing fact that Compstat, like all technology, is not, never was and never will be infallible and can be easily taken advantaged of by the minds and hands of conniving humans. And since the persecution and casting out of Detective Frank Serpico, Captain Vucinaj has unfortunately become just another victim of the perpetual Blue Wall Of Silence and the sad, maddening culture of unquestioned exclusivity and fraternity of the NYPD.

Privately, police sources said, Vucinaj is known as a stickler for the rules and is not well-liked. “Cops don’t like him, his peers don’t like him, and no one wants to work with him,” one police source said. “Look at how frequently he’s been transferred.”Vucinaj, 45, has 24 years on the job and is the highest-ranking active-duty officer ever to publicly make such claims. A captain since 2009, he has been in 10 commands in the Bronx, Queens and Brooklyn. From 2004 to 2007, he was assigned to Interpol in Lyon, France, by then-Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly. He also commanded the special frauds squad and was twice selected to help write promotional exams. He has never been formally disciplined. For the past six months, however, he has been marooned in a do-nothing post in Transit Borough Brooklyn without an office phone, he says, as retaliation for reporting crime stat manipulation and other misconduct by commanders to Internal Affairs and the Quality Assurance Division — the unit that audits NYPD crime stats. All too often, the NYPD retaliates rather than investigates when officers report internal misconduct, and that sure looks like what’s happening here,” said Christopher Dunn, associate legal director of the New York Civil Liberties Union.“Instead of going after Captain Vucinaj, the department should be getting to the bottom of his reports, which come from a high-level official and raise serious concerns about downgrading and other wrongdoing.”The last time chicanery like this was going on was when it was exposed by a regular cop, Adrian Schoolcraft,  who also exposed endemic corruption involving ticket and arrest quotas, and the reclassifying and lessening serious charges of those arrests, arbitrary and retaliatory orders and assignments, the unconstitutional usage of stop question-and frisk and disregarding citizens complaints of vagrant and criminal activity. For doing his duty to protect and serve the public and not the culture of corruption fostered and enabled by precinct command and control, he was taken from his apartment by his fellow officers in the Emergency Services Unit and had him thrown into a psych ward at Jamaica Hospital in an attempt to get him institutionalized. That idiotic CIA-style rendition mission cost the city $600,000.This time it’s a decorated Captain and a city being run by an inveterate liar mayor. Although fortunately for Captain Vucinaj, he is protected by his high brass rank.As with all great stories of the process of law enforcement and justice, there has to be a motive behind this. This isn’t standard procedure, this is a conspiracy. It’s like there is new blue wall being built next to one of silence. A bigger blue wall of insouciance.
